The Fifth Commandment - Part 3
A Just War
Submitted by Thomas Stidl
Much talk about a just war has been in the news lately. It concerns the war in Iran. When is a war considered just? What has Iran done to our country, their neighboring countries, their own people, and to continue religious lunacy?
Let's start with number one. For forty seven years, Iran has tweaked the nose of the United States periodically. It started with the hostage situation back in the late 1970's. It continued with the support of proxies such as Hezbollah who attacked our naval and marine forces in Lebanon. It continued through the 1990's with attacks on our forces in Iraq. The attacks have not stopped. Injuries and many deaths have occurred. Iran has shouted death to America too often for my taste.
For number two, Iran has supplied its neighbors in Lebanon to keep robbing peace from Israel. Iran has shouted death to Israel. They have killed and injured many innocent Israeli civilians. They have supplied weapons to the Palestinian State in Gaza to continue attacking Israel causing many injuries and deaths also. Hopefully, the peace plan put into effect by the Trump Administration will prevail. I also believe that the Gaza peace plan should be supported by the Vatican. Iran supports the rebels in Yemen. The rebels attack shipping in the region again trying to rob peace from the region.
For number three, if Iranians want to protest their government's actions, they are gunned down in the street. The Iranian people are also publicly hanged in the street. Before a women is hanged, she is raped repeatedly so that she cannot enjoy the Moslum 'paradise'. Thankfully, we as Catholics know the true redeemer of all humanity. My one hope is that all these Iranians who have been murdered by hanging, gunshot, stoning, or other forms of executions will fall into the loving embrace of Jesus Christ. As for the IRGC, our naval blockade is cutting the funding needed to pay those soldiers. Some people may say this cruel, but this is the only way to bring the Iranian war lords to their knees. This is a lesson learned from World War II. They called it the “Rings around Raboul.” Occupying Guadalcanal, New Guinea, and the Admiralty Islands shut off supplies to the Japanese stronghold of Raboul. They were starved into submission.
For number four, the religious lunacy that the Iranian religion must create the scenario of the end of the age is absolutely ridiculous. Jesus Christ does not need any human assistance in that endeavor. He is quite capable of handling that scenario Himself. Keeping nuclear weapons and long range missiles out of the hands of the IRGC is imperative. President Trump is absolutely correct in this assertion. The free world must also confiscate all nuclear material and the means to produce this material. If this does not happen, it will prove what General Douglas MacArthur spoke on the deck of the battleship Missouri that Armageddon will truly be at our door if the religious zealots who control Iran and the IRGC get their way. We do not need another arms race in the world.
So, is this a just war? You bet it is!!!
Until next time, Laus Tibi, Christe. Laus Deo. Deo Gratias. See you in
Paradise. Amen.
