Required Web Browser Settings

 

To install the Catholic365 toolbar, choose from one of the following:

Choose your browser vendor:

 

Internet Explorer

Supported versions:

  • - Version 7 or later

Privacy Settings

By default, Internet Explorer privacy settings are sufficient. Follow these directions if you've modified them.

1. Open the Tools menu,
2. Select "Internet Options"
3. Select the tab labeled "Privacy"
4. In the Settings section, click the button labeled "Default" This will revert the privacy policy to the default level, Medium.
5. Click the Ok button at the bottom to save the settings.

JavaScript Settings

1. On the Tools menu.
2. Select " Internet Options"
3. Select the tab labeled "Security."
4. Click the Internet zone.
5. If you do not have to customize your Internet security settings, click Default Level. Then do step6
6. If you have to customize your Internet security settings, follow these steps:
a. Click Custom Level.
b. In the Security Settings – Internet Zone dialog box, click Enable for Active Scripting in the Scripting section.
6. Click the Ok button at the bottom to save the settings.

 

 

Firefox

Supported versions:

- Version 3 or later

Privacy Settings

By default, Firefox's privacy settings are sufficient. Follow these directions only if you've specifically added a block of netvibes sites to your exceptions list.

Mac OS X:
1. Open the application menu, labeled "Firefox" on the left side of the menu bar.
2. Choose "Preferences..."
3. Click on the tab labeled "Privacy."
4. In the Cookies section, make sure "Accept cookies from sites" is checked.
5. Below that, also make sure "Accept third-party cookies" is checked.
6. Below that, make sure "Keep until" is set to "they expire."
7. On the right side of the window, click the button labeled "Exceptions."
8. If any of these are listed as blocked, select and remove site:
- www.netvibes.com
- netvibes.com
- netvibesbusiness.com - catholic365.netvibesbusiness.com 9. Close the Exceptions window.
5. Click the round, red, close window button at the top left corner to close Firefox's preferences.

Windows
1. Open the Edit menu.
2. Choose "Options"
3. Select the tab labeled "Privacy"
4. In the Cookies section, make sure "Accept cookies from sites" is checked.
5. Below that, also make sure "Accept third-party cookies" is checked.
6. Below that, make sure "Keep until" is set to "they expire."
7. On the right side of the window, click the button labeled "Exceptions."
8. If any of these are listed as blocked, select and remove site:
- www.netvibes.com
- netvibes.com
- netvibesbusiness.com
- catholic365.netvibesbusiness.com
9. Close the Exceptions window.
10. Close and Save the settings by clicking the Ok button at the bottom of the window.

4. Verify that "Enable JavaScript" is checked.
5. Click the round, red, close window button at the top left corner to exit Firefox's preferences.

Windows:
1. Open the Edit menu.
2. Choose "Options"
3. Select the tab labeled "Content"
4. Verify that "Enable JavaScript" is checked.
5. Close and Save Firefox settings by clicking the Ok button at the bottom of the window.

 

 

Safari

Supported versions:

- Version 4 or later

Privacy Settings

Safari does not accept third party cookies by default, so you will likely need to follow these instructions in all cases, with Safari. Catholic365's personal homepage requires the use of third party cookies.

Mac OS X:
1. Open the application menu labeled "Safari" on the left side of the menu bar
2. Choose "Preferences..."
3. Click on the Security tab
4. In the middle, for the setting "Accept cookies:" select "Always"
5. Click the round, red, close window button at the top left corner to exit Safari preferences.

JavaScript Settings


Mac OS X:
1. Open the application menu labeled "Safari" on the left side of the menu bar
2. Choose "Preferences..."
3. Click on the Security tab.
4. Make sure "Enable JavaScript" is checked.
5. Click the round, red, close window button at the top left corner to exit Safari preferences.
