Each one must answer the question,
“ Christ, who are you to me?
“Just another accused one who hung on a tree,”
Cries unbelieving first-century Jews.
“ The roof and foundation of Christian faith,”
Hammers a home builder.
“Compassionate and merciful,”
Shouts the woman accused of adultery.
“Self-sacrificing fatherly love shown,”
Whispers a parent with sleeping children.
“He who shows it is more blessed to give than receive,”
Professes a non-striking children’s teacher.
“Light of the world,”
Declares the blind man who now sees.
“He knows my name, personally, individually.”
Groans a day laborer crowded into a subway.
“One who seeks and saves those who are lost,”
Yells a shepherd gathering his wandering flock.
“Righteous and fair; he forgives sin.”
Pleads a juvenile defense attorney.
“Creator of all things: animate and inanimate.”
Portrays a street artist.
“Pure as white snow,”
Confesses a recovering addict.
“Refuge in time of distress.”
Laments a suffer of Parkinson’s Disease.”
“A champion who gives victory over death,”
Sweetly chimes a hopeful hospice worker.
“Slow to anger, rich in kindness,”
Sighs a sinner upon receiving ashes on forehead.
Yesterday, tomorrow, forever, “YOU ARE CHRIST THE LORD.”
