The Presence

You genuflect and bow your head;
You slip into a pew.
Your eyes look up and see the One
Who gave His life for you.
A sigh escapes, you breathe a prayer,
Your harried thoughts unwind.
You let His grace take over now,
And pray for all mankind.
The Mass begins, you’re taken up
Into the Ecstasy.
The world dissolves, your troubles fade,
You find that you are free.
How can you not take part in this?
This awesome Mystery?
A wondrous Gift is given here,
The Blessed Trinity.

About the Author
Born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Theresa spent the first nine years of her life on an island in Puget Sound. With no neighborhood children nearby, she depended on imaginary people to keep her company—thus her love of books.
Theresa attended the University of Washington, received a B.A. in English, and spent the next twenty-plus years teaching middle school language arts and social studies before retiring "early."
