We need pro-life doulas even more - become a doula and learn about what a doula does....
I am writing this evening about Notre Dame Cathedral burning down...well some of the structure maybe left - but it will never be the same church again.
I know other writers may also be writing about this same event. I don't know. I am not usually the "flash news" type of writer.
This Cathedral of Our Lady - Notre Dame has stood in Paris, France for decades since around 1260 - though others even say earlier (when the first stone was put in maybe earlier).
The famous Chartes Pilgrimage goes to this cathedral or at least use to go every year. Now, there will not be a cathedral to march to in its glory!
We do not know the cause of the fire. It is not known as of my writing. So, I do not spread rumors. Once facts are laid out, then we can see.
I do ask one question - why not get airplanes in the air with water to help stop the fire faster? Who knows?
What we do know is that this famous Cathedral will never be the same. Though, I have never been to the one in France - I did go to a replica like cathedral in Montreal Canada - it is supposed to be similiar to it. I am sure the one in France is "grander" or was "grander." However, the Montreal one seemed very dark to me - I guess they didn't have lights on for some reason. I just remember going through and not really being able to photograph any of the cathedral because of the lighting.
So, how do I make a doula prespective - I guess it is kind of more like a "death doula" - where someone is dying - "everything is going to be ok" - maybe it is "time for this Cathedral's passing".
All, I know is that we will weep with Paris and hope for some sort of restoration in the future.
Anyway, I hope this post is helpful. We will go on and move on. But, Notre Dame will never be forgotten.
One last note - I read that the Crown of Thornes relic was saved - so that is great. I did not even know it was in the Cathedral.
God Bless France and her people.
