In past week we have been very "BLESSED" in being taught a new dance as we journey on life's way. It is called the One Step Forward-Two Step Back Dance. It could be called a waltz, but usually involves a 'tangled/tango jingle jangle.'
Three times in past week three different events led to a frustrating time of trying to fix or undoing a mess, that lasted for HOURS. "Why God, why are You not helping rescue us?"
"Why? Think about it."
When we get frustrated, tired, jaggled and rattled---WE FAIL TO THINK RIGHT. Case in point. Bob got the truck stuck in the back yard that is lower/wettest/and filled with shrew tunnels. For 2 and 1/2 hours we tried to use a come a long tool and chains to get it out. Only to move it forward and become stuck again!! Because, I was doing a good job of stewing over "if only you had backed up the truck as I suggested, instead of going the direction you did" --- I was not thinking right. Like the truck I was stuck in the mire of my frustration with Bob.
At one point, I walked away from the non productive mess and the thought came into my mind. "You took out towing when you insured the truck." "Oh, God, I hope so!!"
One phone call and "yes," came the confirmation, "you have towing." An hour later a BIG ole tow truck comes and puts the truck and him back on higher ground. (Does anyone else see the parable here?)
Talking about the situation later, we both saw the lesson to be learned. When you react or act with Negativity in control---you stay in the situation that triggered that frustration.
''Like complain---you remain," when we choose to stay in a stinking frame of mind ----you stay in a stinking muddy mess!!
Today listening to the Gospel and hearing Jesus asking three times---"Do you love me?" I answered, "I do Lord, but with a imperfect human love."
His reply--"If you love Me--do not be vexed." (This is our choice dear ones! Do we love and trust Jesus, or do we FRET?)
"If you love Me, do not be anxious for nothing."
"If you love Me, do not fear, do not be afraid. Do not find fault in others." (Ouch-a tough one.)
"If you love Me, do not loose patience with others--for how you love them--you love Me."
God could continue the "If you Love Me---put quickly I saw just how it is truly possible it is to show that I love Him--by simply choosing to do as He asks. "Feed My sheep"--takes on a whole new insight. Feed them Love that we all need so desperately in this life.
So, dear ones---shall we dance? It is our choice what steps we dance too and the direction we go. Love like never before, and stay in His arms letting Jesus lead in the sweetest dance of all. "Oh what a Fellowship, oh what a peace is mind,---leaning on His everlasting arms."
