A Governor's Tale: Satire for the Empire State
* Editor's Note: May 20, 2019 @ 5 pm the Paris court of appeal accepted to examine this case and restore food and hydration to Vincent Lambert.
Vincent Lambert is a forty-two-year-old man who was in a tragic car accident about ten years ago. He has brain damage and cannot walk, but he is breathing on his own. His wife wants to end his life by withholding nutrition (starving him to death) and his parents want him to receive food and water. The high court in France has given doctors permission to withhold food and drink from him which is happening this week. Pope Francis has spoken out in support of Vincent, and for the dignity of all people who have severe disabilities.
We are living in an era where human dignity is based not on the humanity of the individual, but on the value society places on the individual's contributions to it. This takes away people's God-given rights when they become inconvenient, difficult, or expensive. Death by starvation is an assault to us all, for if one life is deemed expendable, all life is.
The hospital where he is being deprived of food and water is: Reims University Hospital.
Sending a simple email to the hospital stating the following would help Vincent and his parents:
Please restore our faith in your hospital's mission to heal rather than to kill, and give Vincent Lambert food and water TODAY.

And please pray for Vincent Lambert and all who are in similar circumstances.
