Let the Spirit lead you.

We all have been led astray during our lives. Either by another person or by our own temptations. But we have One on our side that we can all trust. Jesus said, “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth.” – [John 14:16-17] This, of course, is the Holy Spirit, One of the Persons of the Trinity… God.

The Holy Spirit is with us and we should let God the Holy Spirit to lead us. Are you afraid? Remember how the Twelve were hiding behind locked doors after the Ascension. When the received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost in the Upper Room, they were suddenly filled with a boldness they never seemed to have.

“After recalling the apostles, they had them flogged, ordered them to stop speaking in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them. So they left the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they had been found worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.” – [Acts 5:40-41]

Oh, how great it would be to have such inner strength. And we can! We can receive the Holy Spirit into our lives and let Him lead us. It is not easy and we are sure to suffer dishonor like the apostles, but if we cling to the Holy Spirit during these times, He will lead us to a greater joy than this world could ever give us.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of thy love. Lead my heart to love You more.

I am an adopted son of God through baptism, though still a great sinner. God has blessed me with a wonderful wife and 11 lovely children, 3 of which have gone to Heaven before their birth.
