Spiritual Direction: Who, What, and How To Be A Servant Of Our Lord Jesus Christ
Bishop Fulton Sheen once said, ¨If you don't behave as you believe, you will end by believing as you behave.¨
What should we do?
What can we do?
What shall we do?
Many times we create walls and barriers for ourselves. We look around at our situation and feel sorry for ourselves. We lose sight of why we are here and what this life is truly all about.
In the Gospel we see people ask Jesus who is the greatest in heaven. Is that not rich? Many of today worry truly only about today or what we failed to do yesterday. However, Jesus set us all straight when he replied to them, “Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me.
I end this homily as I began it
What should we do?
What can we do?
What shall we do?
Jesus said it best - humble yourself like a child. Have an undying faith of a child, and shed all of your worries like a child and accept him, Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior, walk with him every day, treat people correctly, and be an example for others. In this way, you are preparing for your future right here and right now.
Jesus did not come to this earth to create a Church, he came here to give us a living witness to show us a lifestyle that will eventually lead us to live with our Heavenly Father.
What can you do? Listen to this message, change your ways and become a true leader for Christ.
Now, the only question left is shall you do it?
Amen
