Consecration to St. Joseph: The Wonders of Our Spiritual Book Review

Today I want to discuss Saint Joseph and in particular the book that has just been published about Consecration to Saint Joseph. Certainly we are in much much need of the intercession of Saint Joseph at this time.

 I am excited to review the book about Saint Joseph since he has been such a huge part of Journeys of Faith from the beginning, Bob and Penny Lord were especially devoted to Saint Joseph as was I. Each year around the Feast Day of Saint Joseph something very special happened to this day. We have had of tradition of honoring Saint Joseph each year here at the Mission by having a Saint Joseph Altar.

In the midst of crisis, confusion, and a world at war with the Church, it's time to come home again to our spiritual father, St. Joseph. In this richly researched and lovingly presented program of consecration to St. Joseph, Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, brings to life the wonders, the power, and the ceaseless love of St. Joseph, Universal Patron of the Church and the Terror of Demons.

The book has three parts.

Part 1 - 33 Day Consecration

Father Calloway presents us with a 33 day Consecration to Saint Joseph. Each of the attributes of Saint Joseph are discussed one day at a time.

Of particular interest to us know I have reviewed the DAY 29 of the Consecration Hope of the Sick - 

God has healed many people through the intercession of Saint Joseph such as Saint Teresa of Avila. She named her first Convent she founded after Saint Joseph.

Saint Therese of Lisieux would have died as a child were it not for the intercession of Saint Joseph.

Saint Joseph offers hope in times of sickness.

Saint Joseph will help you be abandoned to Divine Providence.

Part 2 - The Wonders of our Spiritual Father

In part 2, Father Calloway presents the Wonders of Saint Joseph. I am going to discuss some of the wonders:

Delight of Saints - Saint Joseph's Oratory in Montreal built by Saint Brother Andre, the miracle worker of Montreal that blessed the sick with the oil from the lamp of Saint Joseph Shrine.

Our Spiritual Father - Patron of the Universal Church

Holy House of Loreto - The Holiest place in the world is in Loreto, Italy. The home of the Holy Family was in Nazareth but was moved to Italy 1291. According to tradition and witnesses it was moved by the Angels. We have a replica of the Holy House here at Holy Family Mission. 

Silent Witness - Saint Joseph is believed to have built the miraculous spiral staircase in Santa Fe New Mexico that was built without nails and has 33 steps.

Let us pray:
O God, in your ineffable providence you were pleased to choose Blessed Joseph to be the spouse of your most holy Mother; grant, we beg you, that we may be worthy to have him for our intercessor in heaven whom on earth we venerate as our Protector: You who live and reign forever and ever.

Saint Joseph, pray for us.

 I am purposely making this a short podcast, simply because this book is packed with so much information about Saint Joseph that no amount of babbling by me can do it justice.
