Revelation Chapter 1-v3
"Blessed is the one* who reads aloud and blessed are those who listen to this prophetic message and heed what is written in it, for the appointed time is near."
Greeting.* from St. John on the Patmos Island and from your sister in Christ, another John for my name is Johanna.
Since most of the population have been exiled to their homes, away from Church--now is the time perhaps to seek God's Word from Scripture. For myself, I am being led to read Revelation, as God is impressing upon my heart to do so.
John is speaking to the seven churches. Seven in the Bible indicates complete or fullness and so He is speaking to ALL the Church--to us.
In John's Vision, the Son of God is appearing to John. This Person refers to Himself as the Alpha and the Omega--the Beginning and the End.
"A sharp two edge sword" is coming out of His mouth---or "the Word of God" as described in Ephesians 6-v 17.
Our Glorified, Resurrected Christ, is holding seven stars and seven lampstands. The seven stars are Angels of the churches and the Lampstands are the seven Churches, Jesus is telling us.
There will be very many symbolisms in Revelation and it is important that we know exactly what our Lord is speaking to us.
In Chapter 2 of Revelation ---Christ is speaking to us, His Church---so I suggest you start to read and study this chapter and pray for discernment, wisdom, and understanding. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you HEAR the messages being given to us in this day--and this age. Especially hear the first Word spoken to the first Church---"You have lost your first Love."
Lord, I want to know just all that you are saying to me, I know how important it is as these days pass, and I age with every day that goes by. Nearer to thee my God--I come.
