Quarantine Rosary

 “There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot solve by the power of the Holy Rosary.” (Sister Lucia of Fatima)

Many saints throughout the ages have often recited the rosary in times of distress and trials. There is no time in recent history that the power of the faithful praying the rosary is needed more than now. “The rosary is the weapon for these times,” said St. Padre Pio. He was right. It is our weapon and it is now, more than ever, that we need it. Below is a suggested way to pray the rosary daily that is specifically targeted at the coronavirus pandemic. It is through the power of prayer that we will overcome this pandemic.

Decade 1: For those impacted by Coronavirus

Bead 1- For those who have died: To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. To you I ask that you receive your servants in your arms who have died from the coronavirus. Being confident that whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s (Romans 14:8), we ask that you grant them eternal rest in your Holy Presence, with all your angels and saints. Remember them, O Lord, when they come into your kingdom.

Bead 2- For those who are sick: O Lord you created us, body, soul and spirit. You know every detail of our bodies and you are the Great Physician, the Great Healer, the Great Restorer. We implore you to come to the aid of all those suffering with the virus at this moment. Give their body strength and health. Heal them O Lord.

Bead 3- For those who have lost a loved one: Lord Jesus you know the pain of losing a loved one as you wept when your friend Lazarus died. Knowing you would raise him again, you still felt the agony and pain of loss. We know you can relate to the grief these families are feeling. Your Blessed Holy Mother also experienced pain and loss as she watched her only Son die. Lord comfort those who are mourning and let them feel your presence. Holy Mary be their mother. Wrap your arms around your children grieving and may they be comforted by their Holy Mother.

Bead 4- For those quarantined: Lord may you send your angels and saints to surround them. May they never feel like they are alone but that they seek unique and new ways to experience your presence, the presence of your saints, and may they begin to appreciate the silence. May they reach out to you during these times and let them feel your Holy Presence. May the silence be a comforter rather than a source of fear and pain.

Bead 5- For those fearful: Father God may those who are fearful of contracting this virus rest in your comfort. May they cast all their cares on you because we know you care for them. May they be strong and courageous, never afraid or terrified, and may they find their refuge and strength in you and your Word.

Bead 6- For the elderly and all those at higher risk: Lord Jesus we ask that you be an ever present help to those most vulnerable to this virus. We ask that you surround them with your presence and protection. May you place your angels around them to protect them.

Bead 7- For the President: Lord may you guide the decisions of the president. May he make decisions that will help end this virus, protect lives, and bring about an end to this pandemic in this country.

Bead 8- For governors: Father God may the state governors place funds where they are needed most in order to provide for the people of their state and provide the necessary resources to combat the spread of this virus. May you give them wisdom and give them ears to hear what you have to say to them. May they follow your guidance, your voice, and your leading in addressing the varying needs and fears of those under their leadership and in their state.

Bead 9- For Congress and state legislative members: Lord Jesus may all members of Congress and state legislative members put partisanship aside and place the lives, health, and well-being of those for whom they represent first and foremost. May they come together in a unified effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 and protect their citizens.

Bead 10- For world leaders: Lord for leaders around the world who are fighting this pandemic, who are experiencing economic turmoil, continued loss of life, and who do not have a cure or an answer, may they be attentive to your ear. For those who know you as Lord, may they submit to your Will, listen for your instruction, and obey your voice. For those who do not know you as Lord, may they seek answers and let that search lead them to you. May they have the courage to turn to you.

Decade 2- For medical professionals and staff

Bead 1- For doctors: May you give them wisdom in knowing how to treat their patients with this virus, protection from contracting the virus as they work with patients, and may they be a light to those suffering. 

Bead 2- For nurses: May you let their heart for caring and healing shine forth in this dark time, protect them from getting this virus, preserve their life, and may this be a cause that brings more people to want to serve in the healthcare field and help others, even at the risk of their own lives.

Bead 3- For researchers: Give them the wisdom, O Lord, to know how to create a cure for this virus so that medical professionals can rid the world of this pandemic.

Bead 4- For those on the coronavirus task force: May they have all the resources they need, all the wisdom that is crucial, and may they place their efforts and resources in all the proper and necessary areas.

Bead 5- For hospital administrators: Protect them, O Lord, from getting the virus and may you guide them in how to protect their employees from the virus, how to provide care for those suffering, how to stretch hospital resources to meet needs, and provide for additional resources as needed to support and care for those suffering.

Bead 6- For pharmacies and medical equipment providers: May the pharmacies be able to provide necessary medicines to those with various medical conditions who may not be able to get to the pharmacy for medicine during these quarantines, may the medical equipment providers have access to all resources they need to provide more than enough medical equipment to hospitals around the globe who need it in order to provide care for those suffering and dying.

Bead 7- For the spouses of doctors and nurses: May you give the spouses of those working in high risk jobs peace, may you protect them and draw them close to you. May they seek comfort and security in you.

Bead 8- For the children of doctors and nurses: May the children of parents who work in the medical field be comforted in knowing their parents are serving others. Their parents are the hands and feet of you, O Lord, at this moment and may they have peace and comfort. May they support their parents and become a blessing during this time.

Bead 9- For janitorial staff of hospitals and doctor’s offices: May you give those who clean medical facilities protection and give them wisdom. Provide for them the necessary cleaning and sanitizing supplies so they can reduce the spread of this virus.

Bead 10- For local doctor’s offices: May you give those who work at local medical offices wisdom to recognize the signs and symptoms early of this virus and be able to provide the best care and instructions to those suffering with it. May you provide them all the resources, equipment, test kits, and knowledge needed to help stop the spread of this virus.

Decade 3- For the economy

Bead 1- For those who have lost work hours but still working: we pray that you, O Lord, in your infinite mercy, grant them the ability to make up for the lost hours either in their current job or provide for them a second job that fills in the lost income gap. We know you are our Good Father, the Great Provider and may those who have lost work hours find peace and trust in you. May they be a source of encouragement to their coworkers who may have lost hours as well.

Bead 2- For those who have lost their job: For those who have lost their job because of this virus we ask that you meet their every need. Provide for them and sustain them. O Lord pave a path to another job and source of income that provides them with a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and meets their needs. May they use this time of searching for employment to draw near to you and trust in you.

Bead 3- For grocery suppliers and providers: May you provide protection to their workers from the virus as they work diligently to provide necessary food items and supplies to stores in order for citizens to have what they need.

Bead 4- For stores, specifically grocery stores and restaurants: May you continue to increase their supply, eliminate delays for shipments and supplies, and give them wisdom to know how to decrease the issues caused by hoarding. May they make policies that provide adequate opportunities for everyone to shop for what they need.

Bead 5- For business owners still operating: For those businesses still operating, may you provide for their employees the necessary protective equipment such as cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, and may their leadership create policies to help stop the spread of the virus to others.

Bead 6- For local economies: May the local economies, specifically in rural towns and communities, find ways to sustain itself and meet the needs of those living in these areas that often have difficulty gaining access to resources.

Bead 7- For business owners who have had to close: May you abundantly bless their businesses, bless their owners, and provide for the needs of their workers. May their doors soon be open again.

Bead 8- For the elderly and those struggling to obtain food and supplies: May you make a way for everyone, especially the elderly who may not have others to shop for them, to obtain the groceries and food items they need, as well as sanitizing items and cleaning items so they can provide for their needs.

Bead 9- For those who have had to reschedule weddings, birthday and anniversary celebrations: May they find unique and new ways to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Give those who have been forced to reschedule weddings the peace of knowing all things work together for the good and may you bless their new wedding date even more abundantly. Shower them with your grace, mercy, and love.

Bead 10- For truck drivers and delivery personnel: Lord God may you place your angels around those who are delivering items, particularly food and necessary resources, to businesses and homes, that they may be protected from contracting the virus and may you give them strength and energy to work the hours needed.

Decade 4- For first responders

Bead 1- For police officers: Lord God that you protect them as they work in the community, come in contact with countless others as they serve and protect, and may they use their position for good and not evil. May they seek only the good of others and may you place your angels around them.

Bead 2- For firefighters: Lord as they battle fires and rush to serve others, may you send your angels to rush to their side and keep them safe, protect them, and provide for them.

Bead 3- For the military: For those serving overseas and stateside, may you give them the energy and strength, wisdom and fortitude, to serve others without thought of self and protect them from the virus.

Bead 4- For the spouses of police officers and firefighters: May you give them peace and protection. May they seek their comfort and peace in you.

Bead 5- For spouses of the military: Lord, for the military spouse who is often too familiar with their loved one being in dangerous situations, may you give them comfort and protection. May you lessen their concern and strengthen their resolve to be a support for their loved one.

Bead 6- For EMTs and emergency medical responders: Protect them from the coronavirus, O Lord, as they rush into countless situations that place them at risk while they serve others. Just as they come to the aid and assistance of those injured, sick and suffering, may you come to their aid and protect them.

Bead 7- For children of first responders: Protect their children, Lord Jesus, as their parents are working to serve others.

Bead 8- For community support: May our communities rise up together and support those who put their lives on the line to help those quarantined. May those in the community seek out new ways to show their support and help those around them.

Bead 9- For border control: Give them wisdom and knowledge to know what policies are effective in slowing this virus, protect them from contracting it as they encounter others from various countries.

Bead 10- For FEMA and local agencies: May they have the wisdom to know how to address and stop this virus.

Decade 5-For the church

Bead 1- For local priests: You O Lord have called them to the priesthood for such a time as this. Give them guidance and help in being an encouragement to their flock and ministering to those they serve during this time. Give them creative ways to provide the sacraments to their flock and may they have the courage and strength to risk even their own safety to administer the sacraments to those sick and dying.

Bead 2- For access to the sacraments: May local priests be able to provide access to confession, anointing of the sick, and all the sacraments of the church in creative and innovative ways while Masses are canceled around the globe. May those who cannot physical receive the Eucharist make a spiritual communion daily until such a time when they can once again receive the Eucharist.

Bead 3- For bishops: May they be guided by your voice O Lord in the decisions they make for their dioceses. May they be attentive to your ear and may those in their diocese submit to their directions and commit to pray for them during this time.

Bead 4- For the Pope: As the successor of St. Peter, may he stand during this time as a symbol of the Church and may he be a source of encouragement for all those looking for hope. May his words be as honey that flows from your throne, O Lord.

Bead 5- For laymen: During such a difficult time, may the laymen of the Church draw closer to you O Lord in various ways. May they experience you in ways they never have and may they have an increased hunger for you. May their hunger lead to a thirst for knowledge of your Word and may the hunger for receiving You in the most Blessed Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist increase each day so that it is never taken for granted when they are able to once again receive it.

Bead 6- For those providing live streaming of Masses and religious devotions: Give them the resources, innovative ideas, and knowledge to know how to reach those in quarantine and those prevented from attending Mass. May the secular media join in helping those confined to their home bring Jesus to them. 

Bead 7- For Catholic media, such as EWTN, working to increase Catholic faith: May you guide them in their programming and their decisions of how to share the gospel, be a beacon of hope, and increase the faith of Catholics around the world. May those who are not Christian but are seeking answers and hope find it in them.

Bead 8- For the religious communities: Protect them, O Lord, from the virus and may they be used mightily with their prayers and their devotions in bringing an end to the coronavirus. May the number of those considering religious life dramatically increase as a result of the virus.

Bead 9- For missionaries: For missionaries around the world, especially in the hardest hit countries from the coronavirus, may you provide protection for them and place your angels around them.

Bead 10- For deacons: May you give them wisdom, strength, and resolve to assist priests in whatever ways necessary to reach the laymen and minister to those during such a fearful and trying time.
