What about us? We may think, I am not important. I am unable anymore. I cannot speak well or do not know what to say to others. I am just an ordinary person, living an ordinary life. So was Mary, and so were a multitude of saints. Holy people just living their lives, one step at a time, on day at a time, who were so in love with Jesus and God, that all they wanted to do was be in His footsteps.
So nothing, or nobody? How does God choose someone, or call them to COME? Notice, it is the weak, the not so handsome, the rough around the edges, and yes even the most handsome and beautiful too, it their hearts are humble and contrite. Just how is it that we are used too?
One look, one smile, one kind word---seeds to be sewn. Words that encourage and comfort, little acts of kindness that help and rescue---grains of salt or sand; that make a difference in the life of someone longing for God's touch. Going the extra step, even a mile, to be with the weak, the weary, and be there for them. Just BE THERE, just your presence, your love will bring the Presence of Jesus, the Father and Holy Spirit into the life of another searching.
Seconds of time---a blink of an eye--that can dramatically change someone's life. Unexpected events that change our course, our life that happened in an instance. God seems to set us up to be at the right place at the right time --to be there for His little miracles to unfold. So stay connected to Him at all times, stay plugged into HIS Presence, His Mind and Being. We never know what opportunity will be missed if we think, "what does it matter, or I don't feel like it." When we feel an urge to go do or check or look---that is when the Holy Spirit leads us to be in the right place at the right time.
In dot-to-dot connections, in many unexpected places and ways--God speaks to us in every moment, if we are listening. He is there in every second of time if we are aware and have eyes and ears open. If we are into the ways of the world, we cannot be in His Ways. Time spent doing 'nothing' or doing mindless activities--is a waste of God's time and your gifts. Remember if not used, what is given is atrophied, lost, and to be cast off, like the flavorless salt.
Do not take time for granted. Do not let time slip by wasted. Do not think I cannot do anything, I am not able anymore. Do not become salt that has lost its flavor. Do not become moldy bread, hard, no longer able to bring life into another's life. You are the 'bread to be blessed, broken and given.' You are the salt of the earth. You are the water that refreshes, the hands that have healing touch, and the being that brings joy and hope into this world. JUST AS YOU ARE--no matter what shape you are in---for the physical body alone, is not what GOD uses. It is our inner being, our spiritual being, our mind that conforms to His Will and His Way. This is what enables us to be the vessels that God will use to bring Jesus into the world.
He does work through us. He use ALL of who we are, to inspire and to encourage, even when we are not aware of how our actions or words are being used by God to bring His love into this world. In Him, through Him and with Him, all things are possible and all things done for His Honor and His Glory.
NO MATTER WHAT, NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE---YOU ARE VERY IMPORTANT IN THE PLANS of GOD!
