A common greeting we hear almost everyday, and most of us probably will reply, "Nothing's new---same ole daily stuff.
That is not TRUE--every moment of everyday is NEW!! And what we do with it--well, let us start by deeply realizing that every minute of every day is a GIFT!! Not to be taken for granted!
Recently this quote popped up on a post, and I loved it!!
A MINUTE
"I’ve only just a minute. Only sixty seconds in it.
Forced upon me, can’t refuse it. Didn’t seek it, didn’t choose it,
But it’s up to me to use it. I must suffer if I lose it,
Give an account if I abuse it, Just a tiny little minute,
But eternity is in it." -Dr. Benjamin E. Mays
Dr. Mays reflection or poem, really blessed me! After reading it, whenever I was wondering, 'what next?' I thought of that 'MINUTE' given to me. Each one. If nothing came to mind of an action, then God sent the inspiration. "THANK ME. Say a little pray. See Me all around and PRAISE ME."
Or, how about just "ENJOY THE MOMENT and all that is in it! Be at peace--choose to be at peace."
St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus always spoke of those "LITTLE WAYS," to serve and love our Lord. This was one of the ways she chose to live out her vocation. One moment, one kind action, one prayer, one smile, one kind word---one minute at a time, being a faithful servant of God.
So, beloved of the Lord. When you think there is 'nothing to do.' When you feel bored of the same old things happening---OPEN YOUR EYES!!! Every moment, every minute is NEW TO YOU!!
It is up to you though, to seek the new, to thank God for the fact that you are still here to enjoy the GIFT of TIME given to you. Yes even, as Dr. Benjamin Mays put it, only a tiny little minute.
