A Large Turtle In The World Today
Redemptive Love: the Secret of the Cross
One’s life is a series of events,
Broken by acts of babes and loving parents;
Sometimes shattered by the chaos of a stormy sea,
Often swept by stillness and serenity on a summer day.
Looking back one sees wonder and greatness
Framed in everyday happenings;
With the approach of death one sees questions-
What if’s? How can? What will be one’s actions?
Looking at life’s secrets, in work or play,
What made one act was not set in clay.
Choice to do or not do, to move forward or remain?
To look with “an inward eye” was Wadsworth’s refrain.
One’s eye glimpses a cross above the bed,
Strays unto a picture on the day one wed;
An interlocking of love, both human and divine-
Now one really needs a large glass of wine!
Enriched with a blessing of light from above-
One sees the secret: it is one of love:
His love for us give us all a heavenly blessing:
To bring another under his strong guiding wing.
A harmony of Trinity and men,
To love and be loved, and be without sin,
A tribute to familial bonding and salvation-
The cross gives true love with his absolution.
The secret of the cross extends to all days,
In storms and serenity, he pleads all to change bad ways;
A blessing extended far into the dark night,
No matter what, with God all is right.
