Change is good with the help of God
“One World Order”
A term that might signify something that could change or disrupt our existence as believers in God. The very thought of living under a regime of total authority from something or someone we have no choice in accepting could become a nightmare. It would represent a fictional world that only is found within stories that attract those with vivid imaginations; a dark dream that we can turn-on-or-off at will.
The very idea of a changing society to a new-world existence, especially with all the disruptions we face today is not too far fetched. However, there are many who have written their thoughts on this entity using Sacred Scripture, preachers of different denominations speaking on it, signs of the times with so many unsettling events e.g. too many natural disasters, and of course our latest epidemic Covid-19. The theme of the anti-Christ is among those used indiscriminately. Which of these is the most enticing to the mind that either fear or confusion takes over our minds?
Jesus even told his listeners this pronouncement: “But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.” “So too, you also must be prepared, for an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.” (Mt. 24: 36, 44).
Throughout history there have been attempts to take over world domination by some who eventually collapsed in their misguided dreams. Each one thought he had the ideal way to control the masses and become the inventor of a “One World Order.”
There is a lot of confusion by too many when reading and misunderstanding much of the “Book of Revelation.” We are promised a new heaven and earth, but this is one that God is preparing for those who love Him. Too many prophets of doom want to show the facets of war and destruction in lieu of the peace that Christ promised and has prepared for each of us. We have been told that to understand the essence of Revelation we should have a grasp on much of the Old Testament in books that are written in eschatological language,(hidden language) especially Daniel. O how easy it is for proponents of new-age to take different quotes out of context when making decisions that might suit their reasons for controlling other people and philosophies. One must be careful when deciding to use language that could alter the intended meaning when saying; “it says right here…..” and then follow through with “it’s God’s way of dealing with us.” Perhaps, but maybe we see without really understanding the past and attempt to create our own future without placing God first in the unknown of our lives.
As I have written before, too often God has been removed from everything we used to hold dear and new gods are being created by far too many non-believers who will change the very essence of what is important. When the Israelites stopped trusting God’s concern for them, God simply withheld His Grace and it took years before they realized their mistake. I wonder if God hasn’t withheld His Grace from us and the question is will humanity ever realize much of our problems stem from our collective ignoring the Grace that God so willingly pours upon us? When will we wake up and see that without God back in the Pledge of Allegiance, support of the Ten Commandments in public squares, prayer in schools, and an adherence to worship our God openly, He still rejects us not. However, if we don’t want God, He will allow us to slosh in the mire of disbelief, waiting for each one to open their eyes and call upon the God who still loves us.
Do not forget that when we sin God seeks to reach us. However, if we persist He will not make us change by stepping in and controlling our will. That’s why his gift of free will becomes the greatest of the many gifts the Holy Spirit places upon us. When we come to God of our free will it is because we finally have realized the what and why of God’s Plan to share Himself with each one of us. If the world’s leaders, as well as each of us, could take just a moment and see this theme, the One World Order would become One under God!
