You're Not Forgotten
In our culture right now, there is considerable talk about social justice, and our role as Christians/Catholics. I’ve been reflecting on that a lot, but also overwhelmed by all of the issues I could potentially get involved with. Then one day I saw an interesting question: What issue of injustice can you not remain silent about?
After time reflecting on that, for me it’s issues of public health and hunger injustice -- food deserts, restricted access to healthy options and health education, corporate stress oppression, and the ethics of food farming and manufacturing which is contributing to disease. Increasingly, these fire me up inside.
We all have a hot button issue, that is an issue that God put on our hearts. That’s where He wants us to focus and make a difference, advocating for the vision He desires for the world.
Not long ago I read that the reign of God is the well-being of the world. That really resonated. God desires the welfare of all, and I believe these issues contribute to that reign of God.
What does God not want you to be silent about?
