Want to do God's will? Listen up.
We all have responsibilities given our relationships with others. Children call their mothers on Mothers’ Day and generally keep in touch. Parents provide for their children and keep them safe. We all know our responsibilities. We do not always live up to them all of the time, but that should not keep us from trying. And our relationship with Heaven and those within also gives us a responsibility.
It is relationships that bring about responsibilities. The closer the relationship, the more responsibility you have. You have more responsibility to your child, than another person’s child. It seems so natural. So, we turn to our relationship with those in Heaven. We have the Holy Trinity that loved us into existence. This is, and should be, our #1 relationship with Heaven.
I want to focus on our #2 relationship with Heaven. Mom. Mary is our Mother and she will take care of us as such. Indeed, the Holy Trinity has given her a special place to be our Mother. So as our Mother, we can rely our her assistance as our Mother. But, do we keep in touch with Mom? She seems miles away, but she is as close to us as a string of beads, the Rosary.
In the Rosary, we talk to Mom. Yes, with recited prayers, but is there any better words to use? Could I come up with better words than words an angel said or words her cousin said when inspired by the Holy Spirit? And yet, when we use these words our hearts can tell Mary our words. Heart-to-heart and not word-to-word.
Will we do this perfectly? Of course not. But that is not a reason to not call our Mom. Could we do better? Probably, but we could not have a better Mother. If we could have, God would have given her to us.
Mary, help us to keep in touch with you, especially within our hearts.
