Who does not have a favourite singer, soccer player, a movie star or even a politician that you admire? I guess we just know a tiny part of these people’s live. We really do not know who they really are and nevertheless, we treat them like heroes for the way they sing, act or simply because of their beautiful physical appearance.
And since most of us are commoners, I want to share with you the story of a common hero, because who knows? Maybe you are a hero too!
My hero’s name is Leroy. Leroy is a common man; no cannon guns were fired when he was born and never has led a country, but he has led the most important cell of a community: a family.
If you are one of these people who every day wakes up and goes to work, no excuses, no expecting awards, just doing what you have to do, but with all your love, then you are like Leroy, my hero.
This common man, a common husband, a common father leads his community by the way he lives his life.
Instead of criticizing, Leroy encourages his family and friends. He always has a funny reply that make you laugh. His positive thoughts and his enthusiasm make the lives of all who know him a great friend to be around.
Also, there is always something you can learn from what he says. The first time I met him he asked me if I knew where the airplanes have their gas tank, and if I knew why the sky was blue. I did not know at that time, but now, I know.
I would like to share with people who crossed my life path, a little of the hope that Leroy always shares with us. Leroy says that there are always many things to be thankful for and I try to keep this in mind. Leroy shares with others his joy more than his sorrows, and certainly this is something I have learned form him and try to do it everyday.
Leroy, an ordinary man with a leadership role, more ancient than old times; as common as any human being, irreplaceable as any father should be and an unknown hero in the media, but a rewarded hero in the heart of his family and especially in the heart of his wife, me.
