Give yourself away, you will get more in return.
That is not something I say. Normally, I am telling my kids to act more grown up. But we all are just children. We may have grown up physically, but spiritually we are still just children. But children of the best kind. We are children of God, an all-loving Father that we can always rely on. We are children and we better act like it. We cannot get to Heaven any other way.
We should not fight our identity, but embrace it. Too often, we fight our identity as children of God without even knowing it. As children, we need to allow Our Father to fulfill His Fatherly duties over us. Spiritually, it is His duty to provide for us, reconcile us, guide us, and protect us. Part of the large family under Our Heavenly Father, sometimes He delegates some of His duties to others. The saints, the angels, and our big brothers and sisters in the faith still on earth.
The important thing to remember is that it is God the Father’s duty to provide for you spiritually. “Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.” – [Matthew 18:3] When we rely upon Our Heavenly Father, our lives become easier to live. We may have lots of responsibilities, but being a child of God greatly helps us to live them. If He gave us the responsibility, then it is His duty to give us the grace we need to fulfill our responsibilities. We do not do it on our own. Our Father is always there.
Jesus, You are the perfect Son of the perfect Father. Help us in our duties as children of Our Heavenly Father, calling on Him to fulfill His duties to us. Amen.
“Our Father, who art in Heaven…”
