Pay Attention to God Speaking Through Your Spouse
Most of us every day will be looking into a mirror within five minutes after waking. Inevitably we will be thinking “oh God, look at me---what a mess.” Stay with that thought, or can this be a perfect time to begin a new day, a new beginning—by asking ourselves the question “who are you?”
As you sit with your coffee, tea –quiet time with God—after looking at that face with no makeup, no shave, no combed hair—write down, being very open and honest—all that you say you are. Describe the physical person, and all of your good and bad flaws, inner and outer. Again, be honest and listen to the truth that comes up. Get every detail and discription down on paper.
Know this, the who you say you are—only the truth will set you free. For, until we look deeply within—we cannot really be the one who God created us to be.
Do you like what you see, as you look at the size, the shape you are in? What about the color of the hair, your eyes—your skin? What of the clothes you choose to wear, and the shoes too—are they so important that you are in turmoil if the right look is not achieved? Do you like what you see? Again, remember the truth will set you free.
Until we own that truth about what we perceive we are or what we think we should be—there is a continual battle going on all day within our spirit as we struggle to BE the person we think we are to be.
So speak out what you are thinking, write it down, get it out there to really look at ALL that you really believe about yourself.
Now--- do this.
In a separate area, write down what could be lies, and false beliefs from what you wrote down at first, or just highlight those thoughts in another color or underline. See what is controlling your life and choices by the messages of the world and other people in your life. Who we are or who we should be by what they state---- is that the truth about you? Look closely and see what does not line up with the Word of God. Go there, His Word, next!
What does the Word of God say YOU ARE? You are created by God, designed by Him in the womb, chosen, brought into this world for a specific reason and purpose. A child of God, you are to walk with Him daily, as you mature in wisdom and grace. You are a one of a kind, uniquely designed, masterpiece of His grace, mercy and love. You are chosen, blessed, broken and given. You are His Child, His Bride, and a disciple of Christ. You are made in His image, and that includes human nature or emotions. You are loved, more then you can ever know—you are loved, accepted and forgiven—redeemed by the Blood of Christ who loved you so much, He chose to die for you.
Nowhere in the word of God does it state you should look a certain way physically, possess so much money or have a lifestyle that defines you as successful, educated, and therefore, a really awesome person by the standards set up by the world. In fact, the Word tells us not to conform ourselves to the ways of the world. As long as you are striving to live for the approval of the world, you are not living your life for Jesus your Lord.
So now, stop with the inner battle that rages daily, as human voices inside nag at you, stealing peace and joy and wear you out with stress. Start putting on the full armor of God, claim and own the truth of who you are according to the Word of God—and live His law of love—starting with loving you. Oh, you are also priest, prophet and king. So, put your smile on and keep it there. Peace my brothers and sisters—peace be with you from knowing the truth. Oh yeah, peace be with me too. God started this message with me first--'who are you?'
