“He is risen.” (Matt. 28:6).

This is the testimony of the angel who told Mary that “the Lord was not in the tomb anymore, but had risen as He said He would.” Does your heart rejoice like mine does in knowing that the Lord is no longer hanging on a cross, but instead sits at the right hand of our Father in heaven? This is what our Easter celebration is all about! It has nothing to do with an easter bunny or eggs, and everything to do with our risen Savior! Jesus was raised from the dead by the power of His holy Spirit! Satan believed he had killed the glorious Son of our living God, but then Jesus stepped out of the grave! Hallelujah! The story of an easter bunny and spring pales in comparison to the celebration of our Lord resurrected after becoming sin to atone for us. Jesus paid the price of death and hell for you and me. Jesus set us free from the law of sin and death! Not only are we free through His atonement, but we are also sanctified from glory to glory by the power of His Holy Spirit in us. Jesus made a way for reconciliation to our heavenly Father: “Jesus is the Truth, the Way, and the Life” (John 14:6). I was steep in sin, and the Lord pulled me out of my own darkness and wickedness. Easter is more correctly expressed as “Resurrection Day” for me. He is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise! He saved those who believe in His holy sacrifice and faithfully continues to forgive those who repent and turn from their evil ways. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16). My holy Father in heaven and His glorious Son are alive in heaven and in me! Hallelujah! I serve a mighty God who did not remain dead on the cross, but was resurrected on the third day! Happy Easter!
