Our Princess learns about Prayer
The sun was slowly rising over the ridge and I awoke to find some warm biscuits and honey with some milk. I was amazed that on this entire journey I have lacked for nothing.
Peace and Trust awoke also and quickly came to me to see if I was ready to begin our day. They asked me, “Are you ready to say your prayers?” I quickly answered back that I don’t have time for prayers. I must get on my way if I am to get to the Palace to see my King.
Peace spoke up quickly and said, “My fair princess, you must make time to pray every day, this is your secret weapon against the enemy and his forces of darkness. “I do not know how to pray” the Princess said back with a touch of embarrassment.
It is so very simple. People make it complicated when really you need to see it as having a conversation with your closest friend. The King wants to be your best friend, and you must know that He will stick by your side closer than a brother. Talk to Him just as you would talk to your friend. Tell Him your joys and sorrows, your plans and ideas, even your anger and frustration when you are in the midst of trials and tribulations.
The Princess thought for a minute and said, “Well then all the conversations I have had with the King, would those be prayers?” “Absolutely,” said Trust. Some prayers are very structured and formal and others are musical in nature prayed thru a song that is special to you. Prayer is different for each person. It is not important How you pray, only THAT you pray. This gives you nourishment in your soul for the day ahead and keeps you close to the King.
“Please show me more,” said the Princess. So they all sat down together by a quiet rolling stream and began to talk to the King. Afterwards they rose with strength in their heart to begin the days journey.
