How far must we go to keep a dying person alive?
Are we living in the past? Our future hangs on it!
Not too long ago I wrote more than one article pertaining to Old Testament warnings with some comparison to today’s actions within our political environment. An attempt to avoid, as much as possible, rhetoric regarding our national elections and the controversies they present is no longer a priority. Truth needs to be addressed especially when it comes to God.
Listen to some of the words from Psalm 106 as they certainly blend right into what is occurring within our government and the lack of standing up for God and his authority. It really is something when so-called Christians can easily be led away from truth and adhere to supporting false claims that issue from the mouths of elected officials.
“Our sin is the sin of our fathers; we have done wrong, our deeds have been evil.” Any one of us can fit the Logos (an appeal based on logic or reason) coming from the mouths of our those in charge through public elections. Our forefathers fought and won the right for the people to worship as they chose. That included the rights of the unborn, protection against tyranny, and the right to assemble in freedom. Things are changing and it may be too late to bring our nation back to the freedoms that are ebbing away. cf 106: 6
“Then they scorned the land of promise; they had no faith in his word. They complained inside their tents and would not listen to the voice of God.” One only needs to hear the very dictates the radical-left is using to dissuade the right to life, removing prayer from all public gatherings, and most of all threatening censor to bring their own agenda to a head. cf 106: 24
“They worshiped the idols of the nations and these became a snare to entrap them. They even offered their own sons and their daughters in sacrifice to demons.” Like a broken record, abortion is exactly that and euthanasia is coming soon, all in the name of convenience. History does repeat itself. cf 106: 38
“So they defiled themselves by their deeds and broke their marriage bond with the Lord till his anger blazed against his people: he was filled with horror at his chosen ones. So he gave them into the hands of the nations and their foes became their rulers.” Don’t laugh to long since the tenets of International foes are gaining the upper hand in technology, power, and finances. If we do nothing we shall become subservient to foreign nations and perhaps become under their rule. What then shall we look like? cf 106: 39
“They bowed before the Baal of Peor; ate offerings made to lifeless gods. They roused him to anger with their deeds and a plague broke out among them.” “So he gave them into the hands of the nations and their foes became their oppressors; they were subdued beneath their hand.” “Time after time he rescued them, but in their malice they dared to defy him and sank low through their guilt.” A cry of help is always heard, but for how long will the Lord continue to respond. No matter how often God answered the Israelites in their call they always reverted back to their own desires once God stepped in. cf 106: 28
Some may say the recent plague or Covid-19 isn’t the same; really? Sure we have had numerous plagues throughout history and science will tell you it happens. Yes it does, but with all the conditions that are leading our world down a path of destruction one needs to wonder if God isn’t pulling his grace back and we are now being left to our own desires.
You may be sure that the influence of politics is already setting the stage for a new type of society and it won’t be pretty. We have been warned from the past and the present will follow the same path. Our future is already here!
