New Year---New Day!
Before submitting my last post, "The New Heaven and New Earth", I sought confirmation from Spiritual Directors, and God.
While in His Presence, before Mass, my mind saw how we already walk with Jesus in a New Heaven and a New Earth everyday when we keep our eyes opened to the glory of God all around us and give Him thanks and praise for His work and Presence in our daily lives.
You may be asking by now how I confirm if a message given is from God. When seeking God's word or message to me, here is what I have been called to do for more than 5 years:
Besides the Bible, I have 12 other spiritual books. At first there were only four; then over time, older treasures surfaced from storage boxes and new ones were given to me from friends. The Holy Spirit has taught me how to do a "Dot-to-Dot" connection by looking up the same page number in all my books. Sure enough, themes or similar messages always connect.
One Book is The Thunder of Justice by Ted Flynn. I go to page 43. It tells us all about Mary's role as Queen of Heaven and Earth. She is our Mother, and now as days grow darker, her example will be vital in showing us the way to be One with our Lord, as she was.
Mary spoke few words in the Gospels, but how powerful they were:
"Be it done unto me according to Your WORD!'
Indeed, why would we want anything to happen that is not of God's Will or plan for us?
"Do what soever He tells you to do."
Obedience to God leads to a prosperous life, just as when we honor our Father and Mother: things will go well for us.
This page also mentions Revelation chapter 12. This one is "all about Mary" and the role she plays in our life.
From another book, the Mary Rosa Mystica: page 43 tells of two women dealing with demons speaking hatefully in the chapel where Mary's statue was.
The devil hates Mary. Revelation chapter 12 is all about the Woman and the Dragon. v1: "A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars."
The rest of the chapter of Revelation 12 then tells of how she is pursued by the dragon, but protected by God. It also mentions how the devil cannot touch Mary --but goes after the children of God. So, we seek Momma's protection by placing ourselves under her mantle of grace.
Another book, one God led me to write around 1990, "Praying the Promises of God" - on page 43, is Mary's Prayer--our prayer --The Magnificat.
"My soul does magnify the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior. For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.
The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name. His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him.
He has shown might with his arm, dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart. He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones but lifted up the lowly.
The hungry he has filled with good things; the rich he has sent away empty. He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy, according to his promise to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever."
Do our souls magnify the Lord, do our spirits rejoice in God our Savior? Or, do we complain, whine and wonder 'where is our God--that my life is so miserable?'
Just as Mary WE should be the handmaiden/servant of the Lord. Willing to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to keep Jesus alive within our being.
Next, I pick up Your Way to God, written in 1966 by Kilian McGowan C.P. I read this book on a retreat at Subiaco and it led me to surrender my life to God at age 20. On page 43:
Be a Christ Bearer! To be a Light to the world, the Light of "Christ must be manifested in us."
As the days grow darker, we must be like Mary, open to the Holy Spirit so that we are the LIGHT that leads others out of the darkness!
(Why was page 43 chosen? Because of Revelation 21 and 22 that I was led to read yesterday: add up to 43. My mind is always 'fed' the numbers.)
