Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI Thanks Cardinal Nichols for Well Wishes on 94th Birthday

Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI thanked Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster and President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales for his greetings and well wishes during his 94th birthday.

In a letter to Cardinal Nichols, Pope Benedict XVI quoted Mark16:6, “Fear not; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth who was crucified. He is risen; he is not here.”

“Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI is grateful for the kind greetings offered to him for Easter and his anniversaries,” Pope Benedict XVI wrote in his letter.

“Reciprocating with prayerful good wishes of peace and hope in the Risen Lord, he cordially sends his Blessing.”

“Thank you so much for your good letter.”

Pope Benedict XVI also offered greetings to the bishops, clergy and people of England and Wales.
