Blessed Are They
The other day I was looking through programs and content that I had created in a prior role I held for a number of years at my company. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that so much of it had remained the same and was built upon. I also know that area of the company continues to be effective and successful in its mission through the person I initially hired and developed. Four simple words came to mind: Fruit that will remain.
I have often wondered what Jesus meant by those words. This experience seemed to give me insight into them, at least in how they apply to my life. The fruit that God helped me lay in that role went on to remain and multiply in support of others’ growth and development.
Sometimes I have this vision of being at the end of my life and looking back on all the work and deeds I’ve done and seeing this fruitfulness multiplied. There’s a certain indescribable fulfillment that comes from knowing your fruit has stayed, expanded, and continues to harvest goodness -- when it is done in partnership with the Lord.
Can you see the same for yourself? When you look back on your life, will you see seeds sown and harvested in abundance for God’s kingdom? In your work? In your family? In your relationships? In your service? In wherever He’s placed you?
If not, it’s time to get sowing! Be assured that if you’re doing what God calls you to do, you too will experience fruit...fruit that will remain.
