The Wonders God Has Done for Us

   Firstly, we owe our very existence to God.  We could not create ourselves or hold ourselves in existence.  Even our reflexive instinct to breathe and eat was given to us by God.  And written within us is the image and likeness of God.  You are not just some experimental creature.  You were created in the image and likeness of God at the first moment of your existence.

   We were created with such amazing gifts that leave us in awe.  And yet, we failed God with such amazing gifts.  Adam and Eve disobeyed our awesome Creator, losing for us the inheritance by their Original Sin.  But God did not stop there.  He intended to do more than just restore our inheritance, which would have been so great by itself.

   God desired to show us His Love for us.  He desired to make us His children, entering into the eternal family of God, the Heavenly Family (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).  Ok, so we were created in the image and likeness of God, we rejected God, and then He seeks to place us in His Family, after cleaning us up of course.  God is either crazy or He is all-loving.  Nothing else can describe it.

   And so, Jesus revealed to us the Lord’s Prayer to show us the new reality.  Then, He gave His ultimate sacrifice for us as an ultimate display of God’s Love for us.  A Love so strong that not even death could kill It.  Indeed, a Love that conquered death.  And this is what God wants of us.  For us to enter into this Love with our love, so that His Love can conquer our death as well.

   Jesus, we celebrate Your resurrection today and every day as an intimate reminder that Your Love for us conquered death and that we are called to life eternal with You!  Amen.
