Want to do God's will? Listen up.
Too often, we are moved by the world. We feel a sense of the evils around us and intend to fix them as quickly as possible, often creating harm to others in doing so. Indeed, we must stand up against the evils around us. But we must be certain of the evils AND we must seek to rectify the evils without collateral damage. We must not become sources of evil ourselves.
The world moves often in multiple ways at the same time, seeming to have a split personality. Responding to every way that the world moves is not possible. And yet, we soak ourselves into the news of the day like we have a responsibility to, as if we can fix the world problems, even for a day. We are not God. And so, we should be like God. Unmovable.
The world will seek to move us away from God and closer to itself. But, we are not destined for eternity in this world, but in the Next. We must stand against the evils of this world, but not if they take us away from God. God can fix the evils of the world if we implore Him to united as children of Our Loving Father. Indeed, when we all see ourselves as brothers and sisters with the same Father, then all of the evils of the world will be ended. It is not by looking side-to-side, but when we all look up.
Jesus, help us to see You in every person, especially those that we meet digitally. May our distance and inability to see someone’s face not prevent us from seeing You in them. And may our eyes connect with all of those that we meet physically each day as we seek to see the face of Jesus in the face of our neighbor. Amen.
