Catholicism and Communism.

   It should be better stated Catholicism OR communism.  Catholicism and communism are opposites.  While some stated ideals of communism are ideals of Catholicism as well, they clearly go about it differently.  Catholicism believes that individuals have free will to accept or go against what God wants, but communism is imposed upon all, negating individuals’ free will for the collective.

   Forcing people to go against their free will is problematic enough, but adding in that communism is enforced by human beings and you have a recipe for disaster.  It is said that ‘power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely'.  To top it off, communism is atheistic.  All references to God are deemed inadmissible.  Carrying a bible in a communist country is an offense against communism.

   Joseph was called upon when communism was first rearing its head.  The communist workers’ day was attacked by the feast of St Joseph the Worker.  He was called on to rid the world of communism and he can do so again.  And today communism goes by a different name to be easier to swallow… socialism.

   Joseph, please protect our country and the whole world from communism that wishes to rid the world of Jesus as you once protected the child Jesus from Herod. Amen.
