The Awesome Insignificance of Love
Thoughtful contemplation,
Beads through fingers run.
Visualizing tender scenes
Depicting God’s own Son.
An angel’s proclamation,
A journey to a friend.
Leaving one’s own hearthside,
An infant to attend.
Watching Him grow taller,
And learning more and more.
Seeing Him make miracles,
Touching rich and poor.
Wincing as He’s beaten,
Deserted by His own.
Walking close beside Him,
But feeling so alone.
Benumbed when it’s all over,
The tomb forever still.
Crushed by what’s just happened
On the nearby hill.
Awakened in the morning,
Released from Satan’s prison.
Singing with the rest of them
Because the Son has risen.
Sitting in an upper room,
Being filled with fire.
Ready for the job at hand,
Ready to inspire.
Thoughtful contemplation,
Beads through fingers run.
Visualizing tender scenes
Depicting God’s own Son.
