Making the most of the day, isn't that what life should be all about? It really is the small moments that matter the most, and stay with us: the quiet snowfall in the evening twilight, the soft patter of raindrops hitting the ground, and the flutter of a bird’s wings flying overhead on a warm summer day.
These are the moments that are not expensive, they cost nothing. Moments that we can contemplate deep within our hearts and souls, they can become part of us, because they are here for all of us.
We get way too distracted though. We loose our focus with busy lives too full of clutter and chaos; clutter and chaos that distorts and obscures the true beauty in our lives. Why do we do this? Why do so many of us focus on what society and the world deems important? Why are we always waiting for that big vacation, or the dream retirement house, the fancy clothes and expensive car; instead of becoming one with the present and the glory that is all around us right now.
We need to live in the day!
We need to connect with that part of the world that speaks to us during those quiet moments, when our soul is at rest and can experience the voice of God. We need to find time for this type of contemplation. It will lead us to true peace and happiness. It will make the world a better place, more live Heaven, because as we become still and quiet, we truly do find God, and when we remove the clutter and finally hear His will for our lives, we can then become the living Saints we were meant to be.
If we are too busy for quiet moments and prayer, we are too busy, and busier than God ever meant us to be. We need to busy ourselves with the things of God, and not of this world. Why do we want to always focus and place priority on things that will not last, at the expense of things that will? Do we realize that we risk losing the things that matter, while pursuing the things that don’t? I hope we can, before it is too late.
