When Anger is Just Sadness
Advent. It’s a time to wait for the Divine (Jesus) to enter our world. In my spiritual direction ministry, this is one of the hardest things people struggle to understand and accept when it comes to God working in their lives: It takes time to birth the Divine.
It takes time to find the vocation and/or career God desires for you.
It takes time to develop our talents to contribute to the Kingdom.
It takes time to learn the secret to finding peace day in and day out.
It takes time to bring forth a holy marriage and raise children with virtue.
It takes time to grow spiritually closer to God and develop a solid prayer life.
It takes time to overcome our sins and weaknesses.
It takes time to find resurrection from our suffering.
It takes time for someone to come back to the faith.
It takes time to learn to see God working moment by moment.
It takes time to see God’s miracles and healing that we persistently pray for.
It takes time for God’s promises to come to fruition.
All things Divine take time. They are worth waiting for.
This is what Advent wants to teach us. Await the Divine in whatever way You want the Lord to enter into your life this year – with great Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.
