I emptied my heart,
hoping to be filled
with Your Presence.
You entered in,
overwhelming my soul,
flooding me
with Your very Self.
I ceased to exist.
My last breath,
a whispered prayer of thanks
as You carried me
into a new
Awakening.
If this be
a foretaste
of what is to come,
how can I remain
another heartbeat
Here?

Born and raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Theresa spent the first nine years of her life on an island in Puget Sound. With no neighborhood children nearby, she depended on imaginary people to keep her company—thus her love of books.
