The Moon Tonight
“How are you today.?”
“Now a lonely old woman, feeling left behind,”is my first thought. Remembering the past is one quirk of age- testing the freshness of fruits and vegetables by smell and touch or embracing and greeting family and friends with loving arms; then being lost in a crowd of worshippers singing hymns to the Lord. Yes, these memories are all that remain after two deadly pandemic years!
The worldly attachments once so prevalent are absent. “The magic is missing,” said one. So does the loss which covered our outside selves mean our true self, our core, is lacking completeness? A good question!
Instead be glad in your heart, give thanks to God; you are alive and well. The tunnel of pandemic may be long and winding, but there is an opening, a light, if only one travels with a free and a full heart of trust in the Lord.
Where is the Lord within our lives today? It is He who is all we need!
Today may be cloudy and dark;
Yesterday may only be a memory
Yet the future is our onward mark.
Christ offers all a heavenly sanctuary.
To reach our forever godly goal
One must rid self of outward coats-
Become as dependent as a newborn foal
So Christ can nurture one with heavenly oats.
Fed with communion host and wine
We rise to do deeds like He did too.
Following His example, a straight line-
No missteps, He calls all; not just a few.
Seeking light to guide our struggling feet,
One can rise toward His beckoning hand.
Leaving sin that has become our seat
One yearns to reside within His sacred land.
Our goal- it is within our reach;
Stronger than roadside mishaps
The Holy Spirit washes us with bleach
Cleansing away sin known to all chaps.
“Ask and it shall be granted.”
True faith, with a firm will attached
Begins the path each has wanted-
A tree with roots has been planted!
