REHASHING THE PAST
Based on personal experience and my association with men and women who have experienced abortion, we do everything in our power to suppress guilt, shame, and remorse. And in today’s world, it’s no wonder.
All we hear in this liberal-sponsored culture of death is that we shouldn’t feel guilty for aborting our child…it’s no big deal. It’s not a baby … it’s tissue … it’s not real. We should celebrate our independence from parenthood (and responsibility) and feel empowered. From Hollyweird celebrities, politicians, and even some claiming to be devoted Catholics, pro-choice rhetoric is shoved down our throats continuously.
The rhetoric contradicts how we feel and stifles that little voice inside telling us we need help. We don’t dare open up, fearing the consequences. Liberal ideologists heartlessly browbeat anyone who threatens to destroy their distorted message. The results of staying silent are disastrous: depression, suicidal thoughts, and self-destructive behavior such as substance abuse and other addictions such as sex, gambling, and food.
I visualize silence as volcanic magma. As time passes, weaknesses in the earth’s crust can no longer hold back the magma, and a catastrophic eruption occurs. As one tool stops working, the world crumbles and ushers in more hopelessness, fear, and depression resulting in using another, which starts the vicious cycle all over again.
Take it from one who knows...listen to that little voice, not the rhetoric. That little voice is God guiding you towards healing and towards His love and forgiveness.
