Living The Worthy Life: Democracy Is The Key- But We Better Have Patience
Law Day May 1, 2022: Toward A More Perfect Union: The Constitution In Times Of Change
The Constitution is a dynamic document, as it not only outlines a blueprint for government but it also delegates, articulates rights, and offers mechanisms for change. This year, this event will change them exactly that change.
Ever since May 1, 1958, when President Eisenhower proclaimed Law Day to honor the role of law increation of the United States- the American Bar Association has supported this program.
Originally it was the American Bar Association President Charles Rhyne who suggested to IKE to set aside a special day for Law Day. So on Feb. 8, 1958 President Eisenhower signed the proclamation to make May 1st Law Day.
However, that was then and this is now. At least that was what had been told. On the surface 1958 would appear to be not much like 2022 but, you would be sadly mistaken if you thought that way. In 1958 we were afraid of nuclear war. School children every day would practice duck and cover drills under their desks and teachers would explain that the world was coming to an end any day now. Now today, are we not once more afraid of a nuclear attack? Almost 65 years later a nuclear war with Russia could once again be a real issue. We are again once more in the throes of worrying about a threat of a Cold War turning hot. However, it is not this theme we are talking about today or is it?
This Law Day is special and you will have a special threat. Suppose there was one event. One single event that could have prevented the following:
Stalin From Leading the USSR
Turkey from taking over all of Anatolia
Stopping Communism from talking over Georgia and Armenia 1920
Stopping The Cold War
Stopping the current war in the Ukraine
Stopping the Holomodor
What would have this one thing been?
Would we have recognized this at the time?
How does this relate to Law Day 2022?
Come join us and find out for yourself.
