Facing Fear with Courage
Events in Ukraine define fear and courage.
Yes, the ironic paradox of courage demands
fear be present first.
Confronting fear requires courage;
Thus, hard demands of courage begin.
What to do? How to do it?
Introspection is short-lived.
Action is necessary.
“Lord, tell me what to do.”
Sometimes just rising up is difficult;
To run, to fight,
That is the question.
Gethsemane was Jesus’ Ukraine;
Agony, suffering, death lay ahead.
He chose to shed blood for us.
“ Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the water, I will be with you.”
