Holy Week

                                                             Holy Week.            
 
                                              Gethsemane is a real earthly place.
                                For Christ it was a place of tremendous sorrow.
                               Knowing suffering and death lay ahead;
                                             Internal pain and anxiety come forth.
 
 
                              For us Gethsemane may be a hospital,
                                             even a doctor’s office.
                              To know what lies ahead is terrifying;
                              Sometimes knowledge is best unknown.
 
 
                             Christ determined love for man, love for Father-
                                            Obedience was to be his route.
                            He bowed his head, prayed and surrendered;
                           Thankfully eternal life with God is our reward.
 
 
                                           We pray Christ to be with us,
                                           Guiding our shaking hands,
                                           Terrified, yet hopeful
                             That together the sun too will rise for us.
 
 
                                           Easter is our sign of faith-
                             His suffering and death affirmed
                             That taking upon himself, our sins,
                             He opened gates to heaven above.
 
 
                              Holding our palms, lifting up our prayers
                                  Kneeling with humble hearts
                               We give thanks to Christ our Lord-
                              Uniting ourselves to Love Everlasting.
