Pope Francis is Wrong
I am involved in after-abortion healing. I hear the sad accounts of chemical abortion all the time. The experience is horrific, and what makes it worse is that women and young girls are given the pills and sent home with no supervision. They will be alone during the abortion process in most cases.
Today, I read something quite disturbing and untrue regarding chemical abortion. Musical artist Phoebe Bridgers tweeted: "I had an abortion in October of last year while I was on tour. I went to Planned Parenthood, where they gave me the abortion pill. It was easy."
What does Ms. Bridgers consider easy? The baby doesn't miraculously disappear. After painful cramping and a great deal of blood, it will end up in the toilet or on the bathroom or shower floor. If the baby is expelled on the floor, the mother will have to pick it up in her hands. Then what? There are not too many options at that point. The toilet, shower, or bathroom floor become potential triggers. A home that used to be a sanctuary is now a source of pain and regret. Several women I have spoken to were so traumatized they felt compelled to move.
I honestly don't think it was THAT easy. Ms. Bridgers probably feels the need to appear cavalier because, God forbid, she admits to any discomfort or regret. Those in her liberal world would ostracize her.
How many women and young girls will be traumatized because they believe Ms. Bridgers or other celebrities? I would hate to see that number.
