When the remnants of anti-God become apparent in society the results will be devastating for non-believers. As most people know, the world condition for war is very close. It’s easy to think that the fighting in Ukraine is thousands of miles away and will not directly affect America, the hard facts are the large number of countries that have systems that can launch nuclear weapons to our shoes and beyond is a reality.
Depending on your age the days following WW II when the air-raid wardens would walk the streets at night reminding people with cigarettes to keep the end burning hidden; the thought was an enemy plane could spot even a small light such as that. In schools we would practice getting under our desks in case of air attacks. Even today, some remnants of air-raid shelters still exist.
Our country, America, has always believed to be protected from outside invasion but between Pearl Harbor and 9/11 we see that no longer is true. We also have grown up believing our faith in God is special but with a decline in church attendance and a drifting away from adherence to a loving God that too is no longer true. People of faith, if that can be said, need to renew their faith in God.
If war does happen, and the realism that we may see it, our faith and trust in God will be essential and we hope that more people do not wait until a crisis occurs before seeking the presence of Christ’s intercession for his people’s peace.
