"Ex Cathedra" The chair of Peter
Into the crucible of life we may find ourselves if the very essence of God’s presence is lost. How easy it becomes to allow distancing from our Lord to enter our busy lives and create an absence of spiritual necessity we so badly need.
A crucible is a container in which our existence can become cluttered with the cares of everyday requirements blocking sound judgements and welcoming the very evils of life that will take over our spiritual sense between right and wrong.
If a person spends years studying and using experiential opportunities to advance in a chosen vocation and forgets the reason for entering any endeavor the end result could turn into a disaster from which one cannot climb out of.
Today, there are many avenues we must choose if our existence will have any positive meaning. Look around and view the failures so many have decided to follow and the one item missing is a relationship with Jesus Christ. Society has no room for this decision and the results of a failing nation are clearly obvious.
Most people who find themselves in this type of circumstance would have turned to the Holy Spirit before falling away. The problem is a hardened heart has no room left for God’s hand to lift us up. The falling away from a simple adherence to seeking Christ in our deepest dilemmas could destroy the opportunity of tremendous grace always offered to us. This is our choice to renounce his saving grace and the preservation of our eternal soul.
