5 things "Gosnell" teaches us
The Archdiocese of Miami said one of their three pro-life centers in the city was vandalized over the Memorial Day weekend. The center said no one was present in the building during the attack, but it was spray painted with sayings such as “if abortions aren’t safe then neither are you” and “Jane’s revenge”.
According to Catholic News Agency, the center is located about 45 minutes north of Miami and has already made progress in painting over the slurs. Archbishop Thomas Wenski of the archdiocese released a statement to on the attacks which says, “acts of vandalism like this defacing of our Respect Life ministry’s pregnancy assistance center is not just destructive of private property; it also expresses contempt for the beliefs, values and practices of a faith community and could easily escalate to physical harm to members of these faith communities.”
With the expected official release of the Supreme Court’s decision impacting Roe v. Wade, the attacks against pro-life centers and individuals, including the recent threats to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s life at his home, reflect the nature of abortion supporters at its root. It is a culture of hate and death. The same culture which is fighting for abortion on demand consists of the same individuals who would be the first to scream we need to restrict guns because we need to stop mass killings.
The nature of the abortion industry is violence. It is blood. It is murder and that truth is clear by the actions of the supporters who are rallying against the Supreme Court decision and trying, in some way, to threaten their way to a decision. The reality is all of this is leading up to larger incidents of violence and hatred once the court opinion is released by the end of the month, as it is anticipated, because the decision has already been written and will not change.
We should all be praying for the protection of individuals involved with the Supreme Court decision, as well as those who work at pro-life centers. Pray for the protection of pro-life workers and it is even more crucial to begin contacting your state representatives and senators because once the decision is officially handed down then the power will be in the hands of the states to end or endorse abortion. The work is not over, it is just beginning.
The recent attacks on the pregnancy center and the judge’s life are just a reminder of the demonic culture of death we are fighting but it is a reminder of how important the fight for life is for this country.
