Idolatry

Idolatry  

This is the greatest evil that exists between God and man.  Remind ourselves of the first commandment God wrote on the tablets Moses received; “I, the Lord, am your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.  You shall not have other gods besides me.  You shall not carve idols for yourselves in the shape of anything in the sky above or on the earth below or in the waters beneath the earth; you shall not bow down before them or worship them.  For I, the Lord, am your God, am a jealous God, inflicting punishments for their fathers’ wickedness on the third and fourth generation but bestowing mercy, down to the thousandth generation, on the children of those who love me and keep my commandments.”  (Dt 5: 6 - 10).  

What has happened in our world today?  How long before the tables turn to the predictions of the past when God will indeed punish the leaders of our current governments for their insolent attitude that they are our god as government?  Of all the sins that offend God, idolatry stands alone as the most severe obstruction that has turned the sanctity of our creator against his creation’s inhabitants

Look at the many rulers of the world, past and present, who believe in mass control of their populace with the use of lethal weapons like poisonous chemicals.  Assad in Syria used these gasses on children as well as adults.  Hussein Saddam used  similar tactics as well as Adolf Hitler at Auschwitz and other death camps.  Throughout history the memories of atrocities committed against innocent persons have to be an insult and evil action that God will not allow to continue unnoticed or forgiven.  Add to all these events on people the sixty-three million abortions since Roe vs Wade in 1973.  

Each of these atrocious actions are idols that God spoke of.  In addition to all the inhuman attacks on the innocent remain the solicitous scandals of our government to establish ways to control you and me with a one-world government which is just around the bend.  No longer are we able to fight the world powers but this is the beginning of idolatry in its worst attack on God.    Put forth means to place the governing entity in their favor they have now established a direct obscenity against the Lord and all he stands for.  He, the Lord God, will not absolve these afflictions from the many who do not believe in him.  God turned his grace away from the Israelites because of their idolatrous passions and will do the same for our 21st century attitudes.  This is another warning as a prophecy for the hearing public.
