For what is enough?

Matthew 6:19-23

Jesus said, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

If we are honest with ourselves, we all store treasures, or things we do not need. Perhaps it's in our nature to do so.

If we hear in the news there will be a shortage of flour, or sugar ... or toilet paper ... we all rush to the shops to buy as much as we can just in case we will not have enough. 

But what is enough? Is it at the cost of someone else who will have none at all?

Do we accumulate because we lack trust? 

The Jews took 40 years to cross the desert. One of the tests from God was about trust. (Exodus 16:4).

They were told to gather enough manna every day for a single day; and not to accumulate for the following day. 

When we have more than enough, do we share it with those who have less and need more?

Do we just give a little and keep most of it? Or give most and keep just enough for ourselves?
