How do you thank a saint?

Recently my family went through a crisis. Our intercessory saint of choice was St. Michael. In the course of about a week’s time, my husband said the St. Michael chaplet and I prayed the St. Michael prayer. I also gave the family member under attack a St. Michael prayer card.

My next course of action was to email our pastor to ask for prayers and my final course of action was to contact the Jesuits through their free app. Their response was:

Pam, we pray for our Lord's protection on _____ and that he/she be shielded from all harm.

That very afternoon we received the great news that everything had been resolved!

So how do you thank a saint for favors granted? I want to be pro-active so all suggestions would be welcome.

My name is Pam Spano and I converted to the Catholic faith as an adult over 30 years ago. My conversion story started when I sarcastically said to my Catholic boyfriend at the time, "I suppose if we were to get married, you would want me to convert."
