When is following the mandate of Christ too much?
God’s grace is priceless
Cf Grace and Grace, a Gift Received
Whenever we think about the grace that God generously hands us the result of this gift within our soul that makes us one with him. Jesus told us about the woman who lost a coin and cleaned the house until she found it. “And when she found it she called together her friends and neighbors and said to them, rejoice with me because I have found the coin that I lost. In just the same way, I tell you, there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Lk. 15: 8 - 10.
Jesus used stories that would entice the curiosity of his listeners as he explained the ease with which God is so understanding regarding their need in things that are simple to us. It does not take much for you or me to get upset over a misplaced item or the trauma we go through from the simple loss of an insignificant artifact that appears to be the loss of a wealthy item. Yet, when we discern the value of a trinket that becomes misplaced, the comparison of that to our soul that is in danger of becoming lost we never think twice about the absence of our eternal essence.
This is how quickly the grace of God becomes the reality of lost and found entities that make a difference between finding a wandering soul that cannot find the way back to forgiveness and the gift of grace that opens a path to God’s eternal love.
In the midst of so many tragedies that appear to confront our sense of right and wrong we are challenged daily with the opportunity to search for what is lost within our lives. With the grace God hands to us the results will be costly and the loss of our soul will be the absence of eternal life.
Grace becomes a gift that God so willingly hands to us as each step we take in life is like walking on eggshells that may break unless this gift sees us through this trek of searching for his love. The interesting result is God will search for us when he sees our loss continuing until he uncovers the hidden attraction we hold onto.
To identify God we see only love. That becomes the very realm of God within the Trinity of three persons. The essence of this never-ending love is found through grace which becomes an all-giving reality that pours out from the heart of Jesus and enables each one who believes a solid path to our salvation. With grace we find the sustenance to continue our ministry towards each other. Without grace we become like a bird without wings, unable to continue the direction we were meant to live. This is what makes grace so priceless, it is an entity within an everlasting quest that we seek and receive God Himself.
