We Stand Before God
Thanking God; a Tribute to His Love
Thank God for every little treasure he sends upon the most insignificant part of our being, and we will become significant in the eyes of God.
To wait until we have accumulated collectible elements of human treasures that can be added up as wealth earned to set before his throne does little or nothing to God.
“For it is love I desire, not sacrifice, and knowledge of God rather than holocausts.” (Hos. 6: 6). Look at Deuteronomy; “Hear O Israel! The lord is our God, the Lord alone! Therefore, you shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. Take to heart these words which I enjoin on you today. Drill them into your children. Speak of them at home and abroad, whether you are busy or at rest. Bind them at your wrist as a sign and let them be as a pendant on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Dt 6: 4 - 9). Love for God was and still is the number one priority, the foremost requirement for humanity to offer to God. Not sacrifices!
“Go and learn the meaning of the words, I desire mercy, not sacrifice,” (Mt. 9: 13). Again, the teaching from Deuteronomy comes back especially in Matthew’s Gospel, the gospel that was written primarily to Jews converting to the New Way. Christianity became named as such in Antioch as found in the Acts of the Apostles. (Acts 11: 26).
Sacrifices were used during the Exodus and before as an offering to God. But even then God called for mercy to his people rather than animal blood. When Jesus suffered for our forgiveness he became the Paschal Lamb that would be sacrificed; now the reality of mercy was handed to the Father.
Make a pledge of mercy to God via thanksgiving for all he gives us, and that will show a tribute for his love to us.
God does not require or even need what we consider treasures from our wealth. Forgive one another for their worst infractions upon us and God’s mercy will be shown by him as well.
