Over the last two summers, while my husband I were on hiatus from singing at St. Thérèse Chinese Catholic Church, we have been visiting different churches in the Chicago area.
I started blogging about our visits at ChicagoNow for my blog, Being Catholic ... Really. My husband and I found the experiences to be informative and a lot of fun. Every once in a while, the choir will sing a song we haven't heard and we'll frantically write down the title to see if we have the music for it. Sometimes we're overwhelmed by the beauty of the church, but most of the time we're in awe of the rich history each parish has to offer.
If you haven't been following my series, here are some of the churches we have visited so far this summer:
Touring Chicago's beautiful churches:
St. Thérèse Chinese Catholic Church (we went home for this one)
Old St. Mary, Chicago's oldest and first Catholic parish
If you have the chance, take a road trip and visit the churches in your area. You'll be surprised how enjoyable and informative your visit will be.
