A prayer before I write

One of the writers I am in awe of is Melanie Rigney. She's talented, prolific and generous of her time. Once I asked her how she does it and she told me she prays to the Holy Spirit. Lord have mercy, it never occurred to me!

My inspiration definitely comes from reading others (Heather King is another favoirte of mine), but I often forget to pray and receive some divine intervention. I'm going to try and rectify that in the future and please do pray for me!

Here's a prayer to St. Francis de Sales, patron saint of writers:

May the Lord guide me and all those who write for a living. Through your prayers, St. Frances de Sales, I ask for your intercession as I attempt to bring the written word to the world. Let us pray that God takes me in the palm of His hand and inspires my creativity and inspires my success. St. Francis de Sales, you understand the dedication required in this profession. Pray for God to inspire and allow ideas to flow. In His name, let my words reflect my faith for others to read. Amen.
